The launch ceremony for an ambitious new media convergence center took place in Hondlon district, in Baotou, in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on Aug 14, according to a report in Baotou Daily.

The center will bring together various media channels and platforms – from traditional forms of media, such as radio and newspapers, to online streaming sites and other new media.

Officials said it will not rely on a single point, form or platform, but rather be a multi-point, multi-form and multi-platform facility.

They added that it will mainly focus on newspapers, the radio, television and the internet.
