Founded in 1997, Baotou Dongbao Bio-tech Co is a national-level, high tech-based company with expertise in the biotechnology industry.

The company's total share capital is 520 million yuan ($74.34 million), with total assets of nearly 1.3 billion yuan. It has an annual production capacity of 13,500 tons of gelatin and 1,000 tons of collagen.

The company and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) made significant progress in the research of the anti-tumor mechanism for bone collagen peptides in 2019. The formulas developed to suppress specific tumors have been authorized by Chinese and US invention patents.
