The city of Baotou in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region has been promoting the study of Party history by making use of its "red culture" resources, according to local media reports.

Twelve venues in the city have been initially screened and planned for use as red education bases where people can learn Party history.

Baotou is the hometown to two widely celebrated and brave siblings – Longmei and Yurong.

The two young girls, who risked their lives to protect their herd in Bayan Obo mining district in Baotou, touched the hearts of many across the country for their bravery and perseverance.

A special museum with exhibitions that tell the story of the two sisters was set up in the district in 2017, and has received some 30,000 tourists to date.

The former residence of Mrs Wang and the Historical Revolution Hall of Chilechuan Museum in Tumd Right Banner has also welcomed batches of special "tourists". They included not only Party members and cadres, but also primary and middle school students.

The venues allow visitors to relive the prosperous years of the early days of the founding of the Communist Party of China and discover the original aspirations of the Party members.
