Satellite application center opens in N China's Baotou
The Baotou Satellite Application Center began operations in Baotou, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on May 17, according to Baotou Daily.
The Baotou Satellite Application Center is the only satellite gateway station in the autonomous region, as well as the only satellite ground master station in the country that is connected to China Unicom's core network.
After the project goes live, it will play an important role in many fields such as people's livelihoods, comprehensive management, and emergency security, taking the city's communication infrastructure to a new level. At the same time, it will further optimize the city's business environment.
Satellite networks are an important part of the country's new infrastructure construction. They have the benefits of wide coverage, fast deployment, and stable connections.
The Baotou project uses a satellite-plus-ground hybrid networking method to coordinate the ground and satellite broadband networks to build an integrated communication system.
After the integrated communication system is completed, technologies such as integrated remote sensing satellites, space technology, and positioning and command systems will be widely used in the field of comprehensive urban management to improve its quality.
At the same time, through the portability of remote sensing detection and control consoles, multiple functions such as voice communication, data transmission, image acquisition, and command and dispatch will be realized. This will effectively solve the "last kilometer" communication problem that support teams encounter at emergency disaster sites.
