Baotou to add grain processing trade logistics park
Baotou in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region is set to become a national agricultural and livestock food industry base, with two major projects currently underway in the city, according to local media reports.
The Baotou Grain Processing Trade Logistics Park Project, with an investment of 1.7 billion yuan ($266 million), is located in Donghe district.
The first phase of the project will cover an area of 1,828.27 mu (121.88 hectares), and feature six major functional areas. These include the comprehensive service area, the reserve demonstration area, the wholesale logistics area, the grain and food processing area, the emergency reserve area and the cultural tourism area.
The China Grain Storage Baotou Direct Warehouse Co Relocation and Reconstruction Project, as part of the Baotou Grain Processing Trade Logistics Park Project, is expected to draw an investment of 755 million yuan.
The project will cover an area of 500 mu, with a total construction area of 24,608.23 square meters. It will develop an overhead multi-outlet squat silo and ancillary facilities (working tower, grain unloading shed), office buildings, machinery warehouses and power distribution rooms.
The area of sown grain crops in Baotou city is 3 million mu, and the total grain output is more than 1.1 million metric tons. The city is one of the national regional circulation node cities as determined by the Ministry of Commerce, one of the national secondary logistics park layout cities as determined by the National Development and Reform Commission, and one of the four major grain logistics centers as determined by the autonomous region itself.
Relying on its comprehensive advantages of a good industrial base, plenty of raw materials, good location and transportation, a high consumption capacity and a good business environment, Baotou city plans to build a grain processing trade logistics park, and actively introduce and cultivate agricultural and livestock product processing enterprises.
The logistics park will focus on the processing of grain and oil, meat and poultry, feed and other food and agricultural and livestock products, and help the city become a national agricultural and livestock food industry base.
