The seventh China Baotou International Beef and Mutton Industry Convention will be staged on Aug 6-9 in Baotou city, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, according to a recent news conference.

The organizers told the news conference on June 18 that the four-day event will cover production, processing, sales and processing equipment for the beef and mutton sector.

Baotou's abundant natural resources and its comprehensive processing and manufacturing ecosystem have reportedly created optimal conditions for the development of organic agricultural and livestock products.

By hosting the beef and mutton industry convention, Baotou is aiming to develop a domestic and international trading platform, as well as display products and promote cooperation and exchanges in order to boost regional economic development.

The global event has invited some 300 officials from national and autonomous regional-level departments, industry associations and the heads of leading international and domestic companies.

More than 500 purchasing agents and 600 exhibiting companies will participate in the event.

The exhibition area this year covers 30,000 square meters and is divided into four exhibition halls and two outdoor exhibition areas.
