Baotou in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region recently issued the Detailed Rules for the Implementation of Funding for High-end Talent Cultivation in Baotou, which aims at supporting the cultivation and training of leading talents in the city, according to local media reports.

The implementation rules apply to all types of enterprises and institutions within the administrative divisions of Baotou city, including contracted enterprises and non-public enterprises.

For those who are expected to be selected as academicians and high-end talents at the international level, the funding standard is 500,000 yuan ($77,300) per year, and the cultivation period is two years.

For high-end talents that are expected to be selected at the national level, the funding standard is 300,000 yuan per year and the cultivation period is two years.

For talents or teams newly selected for national talent projects and autonomous region talent projects cultivated by enterprises, the funding standard is 50,000 to 200,000 yuan per year.

The scientific research project funding of newly selected national and autonomous region talent project personnel is selected once a year. The application process is carried out through individual applications, step-by-step recommendations, selection, and a public announcement. The validity period is from March 3, 2021 to Dec 31, 2025.
