Beiben Trucks Group Co officially obtained the qualification for hydrogen-fueled commercial vehicles, according to the Announcement on Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products (the 350th batch) released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on Nov 9.

Beiben Trucks Group Co is a Baotou-based truck manufacturer which is rapidly expanding.

The company is one of the first heavy truck manufacturers in China to obtain the ISO9001 standard, GJB9001B standard quality system certification, national automotive product CCC certification, and ISO14001 environmental system certification.

At present, the company operates two advanced technology and research centers in Baotou and Beijing, both of which have a fully digital environment and strong industrial advantages.

Since 2018, the company's new energy electric heavy trucks have been widely used in many steel companies across the country, such as Shougang Group and Anyang Iron and Steel Group Co, and rank first in sales in the steel industry.

On March 1 this year, the company launched a new vehicle powered by 100-kilowatt hydrogen fuel cells, which will be used as a street sweeper.

The vehicle's hydrogen storage cylinders use proton-exchange membrane fuel cells independently developed by Shanghai Jiao Tong University. They can work temperatures as low as -30 C.

Statistics show that the company signed more than 700 orders for new energy electric heavy trucks in the first 10 months of this year, a significant increase from 400 vehicles in the same period last year.
