Baotou, which is located in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, managed to develop its economy rapidly by implementing 715 major projects efficiently.
Among the 715 projects, 246 are industrial projects, 30 are energy projects and 35 are for environmental protection.
The city has carried out a series of measures to speed up the construction of projects, and as of now, all projects have completed the approval process, design planning, land supply and the environmental impact assessment.
Throughout this year, Baotou strengthened its development concept for the industrial chain and issued official documents to specify the annual and monthly objectives for the construction of major projects and fixed asset investment.
A scheduling mechanism was also established to promote project construction. Scheduled meetings were held regularly to gather project information and to adjust measures in a timely manner.
To stimulate the project construction initiative in different districts, the city set up an assessment system to evaluate their performances.
The city also organized more than 200 reports written by developed cities and held meetings to exchange their experience for improving the business environment.
Baotou has continued to carry out streamlined administration, institute decentralization and has further improved its approval rate.
Thanks to these effective measures, the city has fully received its planned investment by 102.4 percent by the end of November, which is a year-on-year increase of 6.3 percent. The fixed asset investment from January to October increased 28.6 percent year on year, ranking first in Inner Mongolia autonomous region.
In early September, the city was listed as a member of the first demonstration cities for the application of fuel cell cars along with five other cities. Their initiative is to jointly promote the development and innovation of fuel cell technology.
