In order to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Inner Mongolia Photography Association, a series of photograph exhibitions were unveiled at the Inner Mongolia Art Museum, Xinhua reported on Jan 18.

Nearly 1,000 photos dating back to the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) were displayed across the 17 exhibitions during the seven-day event. Not just a photography showcase, the photo exhibition also reflected Inner Mongolia from the perspective of local farmers and herdsmen.

Inner Mongolia’s time-honored nomadic culture and unique folk traditions of the Mongolian ethnic group have attracted photography fans from every corner of the world since 1892, when the first western scholar arrived to Inner Mongolia.

The Inner Mongolia Photography Association was founded in 1963 and developed into 16 photography creation bases in the region’s farming and stockbreeding areas. A large number of farmers and herdsmen in the region have become members of the association. Their works have recorded dramatic changes in their hometowns.
