Plan to drive ethnic minority development in Inner Mongolia

The Plan on Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region’s Ethnic Minorities Cause (Year 2013-2017) was officially released recently. It described a blueprint for the region’s ethnic minority development, which was presented through a number of main tasks and development goals.

Eight tasks have been assigned in the plan for Inner Mongolia’s ethnic minorities, involving their social and economic development, ecological construction and environmental protection, livelihood guarantee and the cultivation of ethnic professionals.

The plan seeks to maintain the ethnic groups’ economy developing smoothly and rapidly, with their quality of living showing evident improvement and basic public services growing. Six goals in total were listed.

The plan urged related governments and departments at different levels in Inner Mongolia to shoulder responsibility and integrate their resources to work as a joint force. The administration and supervision will be strengthened to guarantee the plan works well.
