An ethnic cultural exchange is taking place between North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region and Australia from April 2 till the end of the year.

This exchange has been in preparation since Feb 13, when the head of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Regional Department of Culture announced that the region would organize an “Inner Mongolia Culture Year”, including a series of cultural activities, in Sydney, Australia, to push the autonomous region’s international exchange to a larger scale, of better quality and of a higher level.

After in-depth communications between the regional culture department and Australia’s Chinese Culture Center, it was decided that customs and photography exhibitions of Mongolia ethnic group would be held in Sydney, in addition to Mongolian performances, such as horse head fiddle playing and Khoomei, or overtone singing.
