2014-04-23 (chinadaily.com.cn)

Recently, the government of the Inner Mongolia autonomous region in North China decided to release the Long- and Medium-Term Plan for Mongolian Language Informationization Construction (2014-2020) in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in order to speed up the development of Mongolian language informationization. Mongolian language informationization is an important part of Inner Mongolia’s informationization construction and its strategy to develop the region through science, technology and professionals.

Currently, the informationization of the Mongolian language has made some progress. However, problems such as absence of unified planning and weak basic research have restrained its development.

Basic research, technology development, application promotion, human resources training, policy guarantee and measure implementation involving informationization, digitization and network development of the Mongolian language will be arranged in detail by the plan to guide and regulate development.

The Advice on Accelerating Informationization Construction of the Mongolian Language, which was put forward two years ago, proposed various development goals in order to greatly improve information management and basic public service of the people’s governments at different levels, achieve wide development and application of Mongolian language information resources and benefit the public through Mongolian language informatization.

Currently, some mobile phone services and Internet applications in Mongolian have been widely applied and promoted among the Mongolian ethnic group. A cloud service platform with integrated Mongolian information is under construction, which will accelerate the development of Mongolian language informationization.
