The port of Manzhouli, North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, is going to build the largest Russia-oriented logistics distribution center in China this year, according to the Manzhouli Port administration committee on May 8.

The planned logistics distribution hub will incorporate functions including transportation, loading, storage, exhibition and inspection in the export of products such as vegetables and fruit, electromechanical, building materials, mechanicals and automobiles.

Manzhouli is the largest land port between China and Russia. It handles more than 60 percent of Sino-Russia land transportation. In order to upgrade Manzhouli’s function as an international road port, a project to build an international logistics complex was launched in Manzhouli. It will help the enterprises to expand their Russian market.

As one of Manzhouli Port’s key projects in 2014, the project has attracted investment up to 1 billion yuan ($160.1 million) to date. In a planned area of 73.33 hectares, the complex will offer one-stop services including goods purchasing, storage and logistics information.

A transnational trade channel will be a core part of the logistics complex, which includes a direct marketing center in the complex and distribution centers in Russia. It will be the largest Russia-oriented transnational direct marketing channel in China.
