Inner Mongolia promotes cloud computing in Beijing

The Inner Mongolia autonomous region, which has seen a boom in cloud computing since it came up with a development strategy, took its message to in Beijing, on Dec 14, and attracted more than 300 Internet related companies representatives to a cloud computing promotion conference at that day.

The region’s cloud computing data centers have a capacity of 700,000 servers and have outlined a development pattern with Hohhot, the regional capital, at the core, and covering the cities of Baotou, Ordos, Chifeng and Ulanqab.

Fu Taizeng and Wang Bo, deputy chairmen of Inner Mongolia, took part in the meeting and explained that cloud computing will be a major part of Beijing-Inner Mongolia cooperation under the 13th Five-year Plan (2016-2020), integrating Inner Mongolia’s rich energy supply and lower costs with the capital’s technology, personnel, funding, and market advantages.

According to Inner Mongolia’s plan, it will strengthen the information infrastructure and increase Internet connections with other fields and, by 2020, have 3 million servers.
