Between October 2015 and March 2016, the Hanma National Nature Reserve in the Greater Khingan Mountains, Inner Mongolia unexpectedly captured automatic field images of an animal rare in China– the moose. One photo captured 6 moose in the wild at the same time.

Yang Kun, director of the ecological science instruction center of the Hanma National Nature Reserve said, "The picture of 6 moose in the wild at the same time is most valuable, because it is the first of its kind in China. Moose are very sensitive to the changing environment, so the image of 6 in the wild and the frequently captured images of a herd of moose, to some degree, show that the ecological environment in the Greater Khingan Mountains is increasingly improved."
