Russia becoming Inner Mongolia's biggest trade partner

Russia's trade with Inner Mongolia was worth more than $893 million in the first three months of 2016, making it the region's biggest trade partner, according to the regional Commerce Department.

Russia accounts for 24.5 percent of Inner Mongolia's imports and exports, which were up 4.3 percent year-on-year for the quarter.

Imports were worth $195 million, for a year-on-year increase of 94.3 percent, mainly in vegetable, fruits, chemical product, fabric, clothing, and furniture, while exports stood at $698 million, a decrease of 7.6 percent compared to the same last year period, mainly in timber, wood pulp, chemical products and minerals.
