Li Jiheng, secretary of the Inner Mongolia Party Committee, attended the event and discussed significant issues related to Internet security. Wu Lan, the head of Inner Mongolia Publicity Bureau and member of the regional standing committee, also attended the public exposition related to network security.

Themed around cyber security services, the publicity week has been jointly sponsored by Inner Mongolia’s Cyber and Information Security Office, Education Bureau, Public Security Bureau, Radio and Television Bureau and Youth League Committee.

During the week, themed activities are separated into different days, with a public experience day, education day, telecoms day, cyber-law day, finance day, publicity day and a special day for teenagers.

All these activities aim to showcase the cyber security policies of the central government, and to spread some essential network security knowledge through multiple mediums like pictures, articles, cartoons, videos and interactive demonstrations.

Cyber security has been linked to regional security, and economic and social development, and good cyber security is clearly in the public interest. Through the publicity week, all levels of government should be aware of the responsibility and urgency of network issues, and the public should be conscious of protecting themselves when surfing online. Under the leadership of the central government, a security system is being developed and a safer network is expected to become a reality.

Other cities and leagues in Inner Mongolia also began publicity weeks concerning network security on the same day.
