Inner Mongolia’s Bayannur, in a resolve to seek commercial investment in the Yangtze River Delta, held a promotional conference in Hangzhou on Feb 20 which resulted in 16 billion yuan ($2.3 billion) of prospective contracts.

Officials from the Bayannur people’s government and municipal departments attended the promotional meeting to give speeches on the city’s current investment environment and developments.

For decades, the Yangtze River Delta has been crowned as China’s most affluent area in terms of comprehensive strength, including investment capital, opening awareness and the balanced development between its urban and rural areas. Zhejiang province is a place with an especially glorious history, abundant natural resources and a unique culture. According to Zhang Xiaobing, mayor of Bayannur, Zhejiang merchants are renowned for their entrepreneurship, broadminded personalities, boldness, integrity and righteousness.

Modern Bayannur has taken on a new look through industrial developments, environmental protection and improvements in the livelihood of its residents. In recent years, Bayannur has made big strides in producing green agricultural and livestock products, processing ferrous and nonferrous metals, advocating clean energy, updating new chemical materials and constructing recreational tourism infrastructures and facilities, added Zhang.

The Bayannur government and its people are ready to welcome distinguished companies and entrepreneurs to inspect and invest. “It is worthwhile to explore this resourceful city on the broad grasslands of North China,” said Zhang as he ended his speech.

During the signing ceremony, companies from Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces negotiated with the Bayannur government and local businesses, with investments amounting to billions in cooperative contracts.

Over 220 businesses from across China and around 20 journalists from national news organizations took part in the conference.
