The delegation representing Inner Mongolia convened a plenary meeting to prepare for the upcoming fifth session of China's 12th National People's Congress (NPC) in Beijing on Mar 3.

During the meeting, the deputies elected Li Jiheng as chairman and Bu Xiaolin as vice-chairwoman of its delegation.

Li urged the deputies to follow the instructions of President Xi and the guidance of the Standing Committee of NPC. Li also expressed his view that the delegation representing the autonomous region should undertake responsibility for representing regional people in exercising their democratic rights in accordance with the law, and complying with obligations during the fifth session of China's 12th National People's Congress.

The delegation decided to make two main requests for the region, including for the construction of State-owned forest roads and for the transformation of saline land into areas suitable for husbandry.
