Mongolian horn-made bows take the spotlight

2017-04-11 (chinadaily.com.cn)

Mongolian horn-made bows, a national-level intangible cultural heritage, are renowned for their high-quality materials and exquisite craftsmanship.

Nuo Min, a Mongolian bowyer, has devoted himself to the conservation and maintenance of the traditional legacy. To publicize Mongolian bows, Nuo opened a small museum to exhibit his hand-made bows while also running a workshop to teach people who want to learn the craft.

The process demands numerous materials including buffalo horns and tendons, bamboos, fish blubber, birch bark and snake skin.
