Tourism booms at Old Bull Bay

2017-08-17 By Zhao Xiao

A promotional fair was convened at Old Bull Bay in Qingshuihe county on Aug 16, introducing traveling routes and unique customs to entice more tourists.

Old Bull Bay, located at the entrance of the Shanxi-Shaanxi Grand Valley, derives its name from a land formation in the region that resembles a bull’s head.

Recognized as the only spot that offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy the scenery of the Great Wall and the Yellow River, Old Bull Bay gives tourists a taste of both Mongolian and Han cultures.

The place provides plenty of different sceneries for tourists including a canyon to view the spectacular Yellow River intersected between Inner Mongolia and Shanxi, and the ancient relics of walls during Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).

By the end of July, Qingshuihe county received over 356,000 tourists, earning a tourism revenue of 125 million yuan ($18.7 million).

During the fair, several travel agencies signed contracts with the local government and businesses to cooperate and boost tourism.
