The public security frontier detachment in Xiliin Gol League, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, has done a lot of work in recent months to protect migrating Przewalski's gazelles in the region.

The Przewalski's gazelle is named after Nikolai Przhevalsky, a Russian explorer, who discovered the species in China in 1875. The gazelle mainly lives in northern China, Mongolia and Russia and has been listed as an endangered species. At present, there are approximately 5,000 Przewalski's gazelles living in the wild.

When autumn turns into winter, the gazelle usually migrates along the China-Mongolia border from Ereenhot through Sonid Left Banner to Abga Banner.

To create a safe environment for them, a series of promotional activities promoting gazelle protection have taken place. The frontier detachment also installed infrared monitors on the grasslands and warning signs to prevent illegal hunting.
