Arxan (Arshaan), is a city in Hinggan League, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, spreading across the Southwest area of the Greater Khingan Mountains. The name Arxan means "hot holy water" in the Mongolian language.

Established in 1996, the city covers an area of 7408.7 square kilometers, with a total population of 68,000.

It lies at the center of northeast Asian economic circle, and is the third port city in Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

Arxan features rich tourist resources, including one 5A tourist attraction, one geology park, two national forest parks, three wetland parks and one national key scenic spot.

Arxan's forest coverage rate reached over 80 percent and is recognized as a treasure house of national forest resources.
