Bailang town, situated at southeast area of Arxan city, Hinggan League in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, is a place where the Tao'er River starts.
The name bailang means richness in the Mongolian language. The town gained its name from the magnificent views and the Bailang Peak.
Bailang Peak is at 1511 meters above the sea level. It sees the boom of rhododendron every May, attracting thousands of visitors to admire flowers.
It is also a perfect place to admire the rime scenery. For the large temperature difference between day and night as well as the luxuriant forest, Bailang Peak is a land of rime in the winters. Beginning at early December, the rime period may last until March, and has the longest-lasting rimed period in the world. During the four months, the rime weather may emerge in the morning or night.
