Inner Mongolia land port highway opens to traffic

2019-03-20

North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region's Ganqimaodu-Linhe (Ganlin) arterial highway opened to traffic on March 12.

The Ganlin arterial highway starts from the Ganqimaodu land port on the China-Mongolia border in the north and connects to the G6 Beijing-Tibet expressway in Linhe district, Bayannuur. It has a total length of 183.31 kilometers.

As a national key construction project, the Ganlin arterial highway is an integral part of the national comprehensive transport corridor, and also an important port corridor for China to open northward to Mongolia.

The opening of the highway is of strategic importance for Bayannuur to speed up its integration into the "Belt and Road Initiative" and the China-Mongolia-Russia economic corridor, as well as promote opening up, speed up port development, and enhance economic and cultural exchanges between China and Mongolia.
