According to local media reports, the Sino-Mongolian Arxan-Songbeir ports have begun seasonal operations, which will last from April 1 to Nov 30.

Arxan Port is located between the 1382 and 1383 boundary markers on the Sino-Mongolian border, corresponding with Mongolia's Songbeier Port. It is the fourth Eurasian land passage of the United Nations Development Programme and an important hub of Northeast Asia. It is also an important northern channel for Inner Mongolia autonomous region's Hinggan League.

In 2018, Arxan Port invested more than 15 million yuan ($2.24 million) in infrastructure and projects. It launched small-scale trade activities for border residents, attracting Mongolian businesspeople looking to operate short-term booths at the port. The activities saw a daily turnover of more than 100,000 yuan.

Throughout 2018, 3,039 people, 1,178 vehicles, and 7,385 tons of goods passed through the ports, representing a total value of $530,000. The port's mutual trading area and international port logistics park projects are listed as loan projects of the Asian Development Bank.
