Ereenhot port improves services
Police officers at the Ereenhot border checkpoint use police dogs to inspect a China-Europe freight train about to leave the port at Ereenhot, Xiliin Gol League, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on April 1. In order to reduce clearance time for China-Europe freight trains, the Ereenhot border checkpoint has responded to the "Belt and Road Initiative" by reforming inspection services, improving the customs clearance environment, and providing 24-hour customs clearance services. According to local authorities, in the first quarter of 2019, a record 391 China-Europe freight trains were cleared and passed through the Ereenhot port, an increase of 22.2 percent over the same period last year.
