The 2019 China-Mongolia-Russia Fair on Economic and Trade Cooperation will be held in Ereenhot, a city in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on Aug 15, local authorities announced at a press conference in Hohhot, capital of the region.

The fair has been held for the past 10 years in Ereenhot. This year's five-day fair will consist of keynote speeches from experts, forums, product exhibitions, promotions for economic and trade project, signing conferences, cultural activities, and more.

Since Ereenhot first launched the fair in 2009, companies have signed 172 projects through the event, worth a total of over 73 billion yuan ($10.34 billion). The projects involve the construction of cooperation zones, cross-border trade, cross-border e-commerce, international logistics, cultural tourism, education, and financial innovation and cooperation.

The fair is expected to continue supporting the economic and social development of the local port economy, provide a platform for cooperation between China, Mongolia, and Russia, and promote the coordinated development of the regional economy.

This year's fair will take advantage of the strategic location and unique industries of Ereenhot and Inner Mongolia, as well as the existing cooperation foundations of China, Mongolia, and Russia, to promote trade and personnel exchanges between the three countries.

The fair is also expected to further utilize the important role of Ereenhot port in China's opening up to countries in the north and help expand foreign cooperation.

The fair also serves as a platform for Ereenhot to participate in the Belt and Road Initiative and the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor.
