The Baotou Airport reported passenger growth during the summer travel rush, with 439,800 people passing through the airport, a year-on-year increase of 20.2 percent, reports Baotou Evening News.

The airport operated 3,539 flights during the holiday period, representing year-on-year growth of 20.9 percent.

People passed through the airport an average of 7,094 times per day during this period. Aug 4 was the busiest day with 8,957 trips.

Throughout the summer travel rush, the Baotou Airport offered flights to 31 cities, 29 of which were domestic and two of which were international.

The Baotou Airport increased Baotou-Zhengzhou-Shenzhen and Baotou-Dalian flights and reopened some international flights, including a Baotou-Thailand flight, during the summer holiday period.

Popular destinations throughout the period included Beijing, Zhengzhou, Henan province, Shijiazhuang, Hebei province, and Chongqing.
