Datong, Ulanqab and Zhangjiakou eye further partnerships

The sixth joint conference of the Great Wall Triangle Cooperation Zone in Mengjinji (Ulanqab, Datong and Zhangjiakou) was held in Zhangjiakou in Hebei province, on Oct 24-25.

Representatives from Ulanqab in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, Datong in Shanxi province and Zhangjiakou in Hebei province attended a conference to discuss their regional cooperation and development plans. 

Water resources departments, forestry departments and sports departments of the three cities signed cooperation memorandums on water resources, the prevention and control of forest and grassland fire, pest control and winter sports, at the conference. 

During the two-day conference, government departments and enterprises from the three cities conducted business matchmaking on key industries, and participated in the symposiums on the cultural tourism industry, winter sports industry, renewable energy and the hydrogen energy industry, as well as the big data industry. 

Since the establishment of the Great Wall Triangle Cooperation Zone in 2013, Ulanqab, Datong and Zhangjiakou have furthered their cooperation on transportation, tourism, and the new energy sectors. 

They have also carried out collaboration in ecological protection, infrastructure construction, education and in the field of medicine field. 

A series of regional agreements and memorandums have been signed by the three cities. These involve forest ecological security cooperation, industrial cooperation, social security and stability maintenance, labor training and employment cooperation, as well as tax revenue.

Various regional events -- such as painting and calligraphy exhibitions, cycling competitions and grassland hiking events -- have been organized over the past six years.
