The idea is to upgrade local winter tourism products and enable visitors to experience winter sports and diverse folk customs, according to Yu Zhiguo, a senior official with the autonomous region's culture and tourism department.
Inner Mongolia will host the 14th National Winter Games next year, and high-speed rail connecting the region's Hohhot to Beijing will be up and running soon, cutting the time from nine hours to two.
Local authority is planning to take these opportunities to turn the autonomous region into an all-season destination.
