Inner Mongolia allocates $1.4m for frontline fighters

The Federation of Trade Unions of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region recently allocated 10 million yuan ($1.4 million) to implement protective measures and treatment guarantees for frontline medical personnel carrying out novel coronavirus prevention and control, the Inner Mongolia Daily reported on Feb 4.

Officials said that the funds will mainly be allocated to the 112 designated hospitals and 217 fever clinics based on a name list provided by the Inner Mongolia Health Commission.

According to the funds disbursement plan, 3.43 million yuan will go to Inner Mongolia's designated hospitals. Each hospital at or below banner and city level will receive 30,000 yuan and each hospital at the autonomous region level will receive 100,000 yuan.

Fever clinics in Inner Mongolia will receive 2.22 million yuan in total. Each fever clinic at or below banner and city level will receive 10,000 yuan, while each hospital at the autonomous region level will receive 20,000 yuan.

Meanwhile, the federation of trade unions will provide 5,000 yuan for each medical volunteer sent to fight against the virus in the frontline in central Hubei province. This part of the funding will account for 1.21 million yuan of the total.

In addition, a portion of the remaining funds will be used to reward frontline staff and model workers working for virus prevention and control in places such as railway stations, airports and highway toll stations.
