Inner Mongolia to lay on more bullet trains to Beijing

2020-03-19

More bullet trains are to run on the first high-speed railway linking Beijing and North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, starting on April 10, according to a report in the Hohhot Evening News.

The number of bullet trains to run on the high-speed railway -- which went into service on Dec 30, 2019 -- will be increased to 50, an increase of more than 60 percent compared with the start of the railway’s operations.

A bullet train linking Ulaanqab in the autonomous region and Beijing will be launched, marking the first bullet train linking that city with Beijing.

To provide more convenience for passengers, six bullet trains heading for Beijing will be added on weekends and 20 will be added during peak travel periods.

In addition, China Railway Hohhot Group will also operate 38 intercity trains daily for short-distance passengers.
