Inner Mongolia debuts online investment promotion program

2020-04-24

To boost investment during the novel coronavirus epidemic, the Development and Reform Commission of North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region has initiated a form of online investment matchmaking activities, according to local officials.

They said the activities will last about one month and run until mid-May.

The activities are targeting merchants, entrepreneurs, local chambers of commerce and key businesses with investment plans in Inner Mongolia, aiming to stimulate the region’s investment environment and lead to key investment projects.

Officials said the government had launched its first round of 193 projects on March 15.

Officials said the projects are in line with national industry development policies and the need to develop Inner Mongolia's industrial transformation.

They said the projects will receive a total investment of 377.8 billion yuan ($53.99 billion).

The projects will be in such fields as equipment manufacturing, production and processing of organic agricultural and livestock products, culture and tourism, the chemicals industry, metallurgy, building materials, logistics and services.

Hohhot, capital city of Inner Mongolia, has already benefited from online investment matchmaking activities.

The Hohhot municipal government recently signed contracts with Gansu Aerospace New Energy Investment Group Co and ZTO Express Co during a video conference.

Meanwhile, Hohhot’s Inner Mongolia Horinger New Area signed business agreements with Shanghai Yunda Freight Co and the Computer Network Information Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, respectively.
