Mahu Lake is located in the depths of the Badanjilin desert in Alshaa Right Banner in Alashan League in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region. Surrounded by steep hills and vast sandy land, it makes the lake inaccessible.

With the approach of summer, Mahu Lake shows three colors of green, red and gray – reacting to changes in the concentration of salt and minerals in the lake, the amount of water and the temperature.

It creates unique imagery, reflecting the color palette of nature at its finest.
