As summer heat waves sweep across the country, the Jinlianchuan grassland in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region is blanketed in blooming flowers, providing a relaxing travel experience.

Jinlianchuan grassland is located in Zhenglan Banner in Inner Mongolia's Xiliin Gol League, which is around 270 kilometers away from China's capital Beijing.

The grassland is 60 kilometers long from east to west and about 20 kilometers wide from north to south. The winding and slender Shandian River runs through the middle of the grassland.

Jinlianchuan grassland is rich in wild animals and plant resources. It is a fine pasture with clear waters and beautiful grasses, and is a horse-riding and hunting playground. It was also a summer resort area for the emperors of the Liao, Jin and Yuan dynasties.

Every July and August, grasslands on both sides of the Shandian River are blanked in vast quantities of blooming troll flowers.

In addition to admiring the grassland scenery and experiencing local customs, visitors can visit the Xanadu Museum and Xanadu Site to learn about the local history and culture.
