In the first three quarters of this year, industrial enterprises above designated size in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region generated 439.89 billion kWh of power, a year-on-year increase of 4.9 percent.

Power generation in Inner Mongolia's eastern area increased by 11.3 percent year-on-year, an increase of 0.7 percentage points from January to August.

In September, the eastern area's power generation increased by 16.9 percent year-on-year, an increase of 8.2 percentage points from August. It has helped meet electricity demands in Northeast China.

In 1978, Inner Mongolia's power generation was 3.8 billion kWh, accounting for just 1.1 percent of the country's total.

But with the help of the region's abundant coal, wind and solar resources, Inner Mongolia has accelerated the development of its power grid infrastructure.

Since 2003, the region has been in the top 12 provincial-level jurisdictions in the country in terms of power generation.

In 2020, Inner Mongolia generated 581.1 billion kWh of power, ranking first in the country and accounting for 7.2 percent of the country's total.
