Migratory birds arrive in Ejine
As the weather warms up, Ejine Banner is springing to life as thousands of migratory birds stop over to rest and forage for food.
Zhai Guofeng, a caretaker of the banner's Gujuyanze scenic area, said that he has increased patrols and places bird food around the wetlands to create a better living environment and attract more migratory birds.
Zhai said that since the beginning of March each year, migratory birds that flew south for the winter began returning north.
They stay at the banner's wetlands to rest before moving further north. The number of migratory birds stopping over there peaks from the end of March to mid-April.

In recent years, with the continuous improvement of Ejine's environment, more and more birds are choosing to settle there, including some rare species.
According to statistics, the migratory birds that migrate there every year mainly include mute swans, whooper swans, egrets, herons, grey geese, red-billed gulls, red-billed ducks, and red-billed pochards.
