Strong efforts have been made in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region to promote intelligent and green development of the region's manufacturing industry.

Since the beginning of this year, Inner Mongolia has launched three action plans, eight implementation plans and one set of supporting policies targeting the manufacturing industry, aiming to build itself into a national modern equipment manufacturing base.

Inner Mongolia seeks to develop two-billion-dollar industries focusing on new energy equipment manufacturing and new energy vehicle manufacturing as well as extend its industrial chains and improve its value chains.

It also plans to speed up the improvement of infrastructure and promote the application of new-generation information technologies such as 5G technology and big data in such fields as smart parks, industrial internet, smart factories and smart mines.

Additionally, Inner Mongolia plans to speed up the elimination of excess and low-efficiency production capacity, reduce energy and water consumption of industrial projects, strengthen intensive and economical use of land in industrial parks, and create low-carbon and zero-carbon demonstration parks to promote the green transformation of the manufacturing industry.

By the end of 2021, Inner Mongolia was home to all categories of the country's eight major equipment manufacturing industries, and had formed the ability to develop new energy vehicles, wind power photovoltaic equipment, construction machinery, railway vehicles, and power equipment manufacturing.

Among the 56 industrial parks in the region, there were 12 equipment manufacturing areas.
