Inner Mongolia's products exported to 90 countries, regions
Agricultural products from North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region are popular among consumers and have been sold to more than 90 countries and regions.
Statistics from Hohhot Customs reveal that in the first five months of this year, Inner Mongolia exported 3.04 billion yuan in agricultural products, an increase of 19.7 percent compared with the same period in 2021.
Among the most popular products are spirulina, kernels, dehydrated vegetables, and dairy products.
Sunflower seeds, Inner Mongolia's most iconic agricultural products, are a good way for the region to boost foreign trade.
Since the beginning of this year, Ulaanqab city has taken advantage of its transportation infrastructure to guide a number of sunflower seed enterprises in the region to export products through the freight China-Europe freight train that starts there, further reducing the logistics costs of enterprises.
So far, more than 10,000 metric tons of sunflower seeds have been exported via the Ulaanqab China-Europe freight trains, with a value of 119 million yuan, an increase of 47.75 percent and 67.5 percent year-on-year, respectively.
"In the past, sunflower seeds were mainly exported by sea, which took a long time and made it easy for them to get wet." according to an exporter in Inner Mongolia.
"Now, our products are transported via the China-Europe freight train, which improves efficiency and guarantees quality." Lin added.
