E Xiaomei: Improve awareness of foreign-related legal risks

2023-03-01 (chinadaily.com.cn)

E Xiaomei, a member of the National Committee for the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and professor at the Law School of Inner Mongolia University, suggests that domestic enterprises improve their awareness of foreign-related legal risks.

While conducting a special survey organized by the CPPCC's social and legal committees, E found that some Chinese enterprises have relatively weak awareness of foreign-related laws.

Relevant state departments should systematically improve these enterprises' legal awareness in a planned way, and build a service guarantee mechanism that enables enterprises to connect with international economic and trade rules and standards.

In her proposal, E suggests making full use of existing tools, continuously updating specific cases and examples, and deep understanding and tracking the laws and regulations of relevant countries or regions. Departments should also be proactively preventing and resolving legal risks faced by enterprises that are involved with international trade and investment.

E said in an interview that she combined years of legal teaching and scientific research with her experience as a CPPCC member, and gradually realized that only by making good use of her professional knowledge can she better fulfill her mission.

"I will continue to work diligently and do my part to provide high-quality advice and proposals." E added.
