Inner Mongolia launches first tourist train in 2023
A tourist train carrying 834 tourists departed from the Hohhot East Railway Station in Hohhot, the capital city of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on April 18.
The train, numbered Y197/6, is the first tourist train to be launched by Inner Mongolia this year.
The tourist train will travel through Hubei and Sichuan provinces, providing tourists with the opportunities to tour more than 20 national 4A-level and 5A-level scenic spots. These scenic spots include Gezhouba, Xiling Gorge, the Three Gorges Dam, Enshi Grand Canyon, Shennongjia, Dujiangyan, and Jiuzhaigou.
While meeting the needs of day trips and overnight stays, the itinerary also specially arranges for the tourists to have some free time, allowing them to visit other sites that are not on the schedule, which brings a new and unique experience to railway tours.
In addition, experienced train service personnel, excellent tour guides, and professional on-board doctors will accompany the tour group throughout their journey to ensure safety.
In the near future, the Hohhot bureau of China Railway will launch special tourist trains in the directions of Mohe in China's northernmost Heilongjiang province, Arxan in Inner Mongolia, and Xinjiang in Southwest China, according to the relevant person in charge of the bureau.
