The recently held press conference on the China-Mongolia Expo highlighted its importance in promoting exchanges and cooperation between the two countries.

The China-Mongolia Expo is the largest expo co-hosted by Mongolia and other countries. After successfully hosting three sessions, the fourth China-Mongolia Expo will be held in Hohhot, the capital city of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, from Sept 6 to 10.

The China-Mongolia Expo has provided an open international cooperation platform for deepening cooperation and sharing opportunities with various countries along the Belt and Road in trade promotion, investment cooperation, and cultural exchange.

Currently, Inner Mongolia has established trade relations with more than 160 countries and regions. The spillover effects of the China-Mongolia Expo on Inner Mongolia's high-quality economic development continue to manifest.

The transportation industry in Inner Mongolia has seen tremendous growth this year, with a volume of 47.29 million metric tons of goods transported through the region's 20 active ports in the first half of 2021, representing a 140 percent increase compared to the previous year.

The scale of foreign trade import and export in the region exceeded 90 billion yuan ($12.84 billion) for the first time in the same period in history, with a year-on-year growth of 32.9 percent, ranking third in the country in terms of growth rate.

In addition, the total domestic investment introduced in the region reached 196.48 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 105.5 percent.
