Bayannuur forum discusses sustainable development, utilization of water resources

The Academic Symposium on Efficient Utilization of Irrigation Area Water Resources and the Hetao Water Forum were held in Bayannuur in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region on July 6.
The event brought together distinguished academicians and experts from prominent institutions such as the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Tsinghua University, China Agricultural University, and the Nanjing Hydraulic Research Institute.
Centered around the theme of "Efficient Utilization of Agricultural Water Resources and Ecological Protection," the three-day forum provided a platform for sharing advanced concepts and research findings on efficient water use and intensive agricultural water-saving techniques.
Experts delved into discussions on the sustainable development and utilization of water resources in the Hetao irrigation area, addressing everything from policies and technology to practical applications.
Participants also conducted in-depth field investigations at several key sites.
These included the Hetao Experimental Station of China Agricultural University, the Bayannuur National Agricultural High-tech Zone Smart Irrigation Experimental Demonstration Area, the Yellow River Sanshenggong Water Conservancy Hub, the Hetao Irrigation Area Water Information Monitoring Center, and the Yellow River Water Conservancy Culture Museum.
In recent years, Bayannuur has placed significant emphasis on intensive agricultural water-saving and control measures.
The city has engaged in extensive collaborative research with numerous renowned scientific research institutions and universities, providing crucial scientific support for the modernization and sustainable development of the Hetao irrigation area.
