Vital Materials Technology Group, a global leader in rare and dispersed metals, commenced construction on two major projects in Xiliinhot in Xiliin Gol League on Oct 21, filling a gap in the optical and new optoelectronic materials industries.

The projects consist of an optical materials industrialization project and a new optoelectronic materials industrialization project. With a total investment of 5.3 billion yuan ($743.34 million), they are expected to generate over 7 billion yuan in output.

Xiliin Gol League is rich in strategic mineral resources, having identified 24 types of strategic minerals, including gold, silver, niobium and tantalum. It is home to an impressive 38 percent of the world's germanium reserves and boasts 900,000 metric tons of chromium reserves, the second most in China.

The two projects by Vital Materials Technology Group, which utilize the company's core technologies, such as ultra-high purity germanium single crystals, large-size high-quality sapphire, and high-purity metal preparation, are intended to establish a comprehensive industrial chain ranging from resource development and metal refining to end products.

The successful launch of the projects not only sets a precedent for the strategic conversion and utilization of mineral resources in Xiliin Gol League but also promotes green energy consumption.
