According to the Forestry and Grassland Administration of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, 2.83 million seedlings were exported to Mongolia in 2024 to support its desertification control and ecological restoration initiatives.

As a critical ecological barrier in northern China, Inner Mongolia has developed extensive expertise and successful models for preventing and controlling desertification, serving as a benchmark for similar efforts.

Due to their geographical proximity and similar natural conditions, Inner Mongolia and Mongolia have vast potential for cooperation in combating desertification.

In recent years, Inner Mongolia has maximized its technical and operational advantages in desertification control. The region has supported Mongolia's ecological restoration efforts through various measures, including contributing to the "Plant One Billion Trees" initiative, training on desertification control techniques, and exporting high-quality seedlings.

Since 2024, Inner Mongolia has encouraged local governments and forestry enterprises to strengthen cooperation with Mongolia. By cultivating seedlings suited to Mongolia's environment and delivering them on demand, regions like Hinggan League, Xiliin Gol League, Bayannuur city, and Ordos city have exported high-quality larch, spruce, and Mongolian Scots pine seedlings.

This initiative not only boosts seedling sales but also contributes to the ecological restoration of Mongolia.
