Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region's Department of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry announced that in 2024, the region intensified efforts to prevent poverty resurgence through targeted employment initiatives.

A total of 238,000 formerly poverty-stricken individuals secured employment, achieving 121.3 percent of the annual target.

Focusing on job creation and retention, Inner Mongolia strengthened labor cooperation with Beijing.

In 2024, Beijing assisted 69,700 rural workers from Inner Mongolia in securing jobs. Through the joint construction of industrial parks, collaboration with Beijing-based enterprises, and partnerships with businesses benefiting from Beijing-Inner Mongolia cooperation, 62 employment bases were established.

These bases provided local employment opportunities for 57,600 workers, including 44,300 from formerly poverty-stricken households.

Rural public welfare positions were expanded, with 89,000 such roles created to serve as a safety net for vulnerable groups.

To ensure their healthy development, 185 employment assistance workshops were supported, resulting in job opportunities for 1,837 formerly poverty-stricken workers.

Furthermore, Inner Mongolia emphasized precise monitoring and coordination between online and offline efforts to ensure all eligible individuals secure employment. Online, the region utilized an information system to monitor and dispatch updates, conducting thorough inspections and cross-checking data.

Comprehensive follow-up verifications were carried out on the employment data for formerly poverty-stricken individuals to ensure accuracy and prevent false reporting of employment figures.

Offline, the region conducted telephone surveys on employment information, implemented regular supervision, promptly identified and addressed issues, and promoted collaboration between human resources and agricultural departments at all levels.
