Inner Mongolia creates over 200,000 new jobs in 2024
In 2024, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region exceeded its employment targets, creating 201,400 new jobs in urban areas, 111.9 percent of its annual goal. This success is due to the region implementing various policies to expand and improve employment opportunities.
Inner Mongolia's human resources and social security departments strengthened policy support, leading efforts to formulate comprehensive employment reform measures, clarify employment subsidy guidelines, and introduce policies for managing public welfare jobs.
Key initiatives included temporary reductions in social insurance rates, job retention subsidies, and guaranteed loans. As a result, 699 million yuan ($95.29 million) was allocated for job retention subsidies, and 1.29 billion yuan in entrepreneurial loans were issued.
The region also supported key groups, including unemployed graduates and migrant workers, through targeted campaigns like "Chunfeng Action" and "Spring Warmth for Migrant Workers". These efforts yielded better-than-expected employment outcomes for these groups.
Inner Mongolia also focused on improving employment training. The region updated industry and job catalogs, launched new apprenticeship programs, and organized subsidized vocational skills training benefiting over 240,000 people. These measures aimed to enhance workforce skills in line with the needs of key industries.
Employment public services were optimized through year-round recruitment activities. A total of 2,074 online and offline job fairs were organized, offering 1.28 million job opportunities.
Additionally, the region established a multi-tiered, categorized employment support system that brings services closer to the grassroots level. Over 1,000 local employment service stations and 153 "gig markets" were set up to serve more than 900,000 individuals, strengthening support for job seekers across Inner Mongolia.
