Since the launch of the China-Mongolia agricultural product "green channel" in 2018, Ereenhot Port in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region has exported 721,000 metric tons of fruits and vegetables, with a trade value of 1.45 billion yuan ($200.83 million).

As the largest land port between China and Mongolia, Ereenhot supplies 80 percent of Mongolia's fruits and vegetables. Fresh produce exported in the morning reaches Ulaanbaatar households the following day. In recent years, Mongolia's growing demand for fresh produce has provided Ereenhot with a vast export market.

To ensure the smooth operation of the "green channel", Ereenhot Customs has enhanced customs clearance by prioritizing document review, inspections, and release procedures. The customs authorities have also implemented a "pre-inspection, post-loading" model and optimized coordination between production, transportation, and sales.

These measures have reduced agricultural product clearance time by 30 percent. A trial program allowing businesses to self-manage customs documents has also lowered clearance costs and improved the port's business environment.

In the first two months of this year, the port exported 28,000 tons of fruits and vegetables, valued at 66.3 million yuan, marking a year-on-year increase of 44.1 percent and 79.2 percent, respectively.
